Morocco Visa Requirements
Gateway to Africa — everything you need to know about visiting Morocco.
About Morocco
Morocco is a sensory feast — a North African kingdom where the ancient medinas of Marrakech and Fes pulse with color and commerce, the blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen enchant photographers, the Sahara Desert offers unforgettable sunset camel rides and starlit nights, and the Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines provide dramatic scenery and fresh seafood. Morocco's unique blend of Arab, Berber, and French influences creates a culture that is wholly its own.
Visa Requirements for Morocco
Morocco offers visa-free entry for citizens of over 70 countries, including the USA, EU member states, UK, Canada, and Australia, for stays of up to 90 days. No advance application is needed for eligible visitors — entry is granted on arrival. Citizens of countries that require a visa must apply at a Moroccan consulate. Morocco does not currently offer an e-Visa system, though proposals for one have been discussed.
Travel Tips & Entry Advice
Navigate medinas (old city quarters) with a local guide on your first visit — they are intentionally labyrinthine. Bargaining is expected in souqs but maintain good humor. Morocco uses Type C and E power plugs. The official currency is the dirham; credit cards are accepted in tourist areas but cash is king in medinas and rural areas. Morocco is a Muslim-majority country — dress modestly outside of beach resorts and respect prayer times.
